Book Two
Strange Activity
A man named John
Bend, Oregon

This story was obtained by phone. The man that called gave a phone number and a name. When I called back three different times to set up a time to meet and complete the story, I was unable to reach John.

The story he shared is as follows!

John ran away from home when he was seventeen years old, the year was 1976. He was hitchhiking along old highway #99 on his way to Sacramento, California. A car stopped to pick him up and it happened to be a girl driver. After a long conversation she asked him to go home with her, so with his consent she took him home. This girl told him she had only lived in this old farmhouse for about two months.

When they arrived, John said the old farmhouse was two stories with two bedrooms and an attic. The attic was converted into a bedroom. John stayed at the old farmhouse for about a week. He said that was long enough because of all the strange things that were happening. The following activities took place the week he was there.

John slept in the living room on the floor in his sleeping bag. When he woke in the mornings there would be piles of cloths all around him in a circle. He also observed all the kitchen utensils, dishes and other items scattered all over the floor: nothing in the cupboards. His friend told him that she would put everything away at night and by morning all the cupboards and drawers would be emptied on the floor again.

John left after a week and so did the girl. she was too frightened to stay by herself. Soon after this episode, John joined the service. Why didn’t John answer my calls? who Knows the answer, maybe he had second thoughts about sharing his experiences! I could feel and hear the fear in his voice. Maybe he was afraid of having people who knew him think he was crazy. Maybe his family talked him out of sharing his story!
