Book Three “Oregon Hauntings and Encounters of Many Kinds”

Book Three
Jim Potter
Burns, Oregon, 2004

Jim’s mother, Doris Potter, passed away from lung cancer February 16, 2000. Doris had gone through some therapy and Kemo treatments. It became apparent her condition had progressed too far and there would be nothing more the doctors could do. There for it was decided she would be taken home until it was her time to die in peace. During this time she lived at home with her husband, Harry and her son, Jim with the help of Hospice. Doris lived for two weeks before she passed away. After Jim’s mother died, and was removed from the home, Jim had an unexplained experience.

Jim started to walk into the bedroom where his mother had died and as he attempted to walk through the door he felt he was forcibly held back. Something then pushed him back and he could not enter the bedroom. Jim was confused, so he turned and walked into the dinning room. As he entered the dinning room he heard a voice say, “You be at ease Bub, she has not left yet.” Jim had an uncle Arden that died in January of 1980. Arden was very fond of Jim when he was growing up and he was the apple of his uncles eye. Arden was the brother of Jim’s dad, Harry Potter.

The dinning room has a large sliding window with a half curtain from the bottom up. When Jim looked up after hearing this message from his uncle Arden there he was, his uncle in the window. Jim could only see the top half of him because of the curtain.
It was about a week after this when Jim was in the kitchen and his uncle showed up again. His uncle Arden said, “Bub you can go into the bedroom now, she has left.”

Uncle Arden was the only person who ever called Jim “Bub.”

My daughter had never read this story before. She always heard me talk about it. She said the story almost made her cry. Thanks…

Arlene is a lovely person, and her first two books are really enjoyable for anyone that enjoys good ghost stories. Her third book is my favorite. Thank you, Arlene.
